Monitors watch your KPIs around the clock and find you when something drifts. Foam auto-tracks your key metrics from day one, tunes alerting to your real traffic patterns, and pairs every monitor with live dashboards — no dashboard-building required.
Your KPIs, tracked from day one
As soon as Foam is installed it starts tracking the metrics that matter: error rates, success rates, latency, throughput, and the business metrics specific to your product — checkout conversion, export success, agent accuracy, LLM spend. There is no setup step where you enumerate what to watch; Foam derives it from how your system actually behaves.
Track anything by asking
Anything Foam doesn’t track yet, you can ask for in chat: a new KPI, an onboarding funnel, a per-customer usage metric, an agent behavior. Foam creates the tracking and the monitor for you — including proposing instrumentation as a pull request when the underlying data doesn’t exist yet.
Alerts tuned to your traffic
Thresholds are calibrated to your real traffic patterns rather than generic defaults, so monitors stay quiet through normal daily and weekly variation and speak up when something genuinely drifts. When a monitor fires, it doesn’t just page — Foam investigates first and delivers a report with the likely root cause and evidence to the responsible engineer.
Dashboards without the building
Every monitor comes with a live dashboard: the metric over time, its baseline, recent deploys and changes overlaid, and breakdowns by service, route, customer segment, or provider. You can assemble your own views the same way you do everything else in Foam — by asking. “Show me checkout latency next to error rate for the last two weeks, broken down by region” becomes a dashboard, not a ticket to the observability team.
Dashboards stay connected to the underlying telemetry, so any chart can be interrogated: click into a spike and follow it down to the traces, logs, and sessions behind it, or ask Foam in chat to explain the deviation.
